Board of Directors

Veronica D. Giles, Chief Executive Officer

Veronica D. Giles is the Chief Executive Officer of SheSpeaks, Inc.  As one of the founding members of SheSpeaks, Inc., she also serves as a member of the Board of Directors. Veronica, who is originally from Chicago, Illinois, married and moved to Tuscaloosa, AL in 1990. Foregoing her dreams of becoming a teacher, Veronica served as Human Resource Director for the Sheraton Capstone Hotel for seven years, before leaving to partner with her husband who has been a successful business owner for 26 years in Tuscaloosa. God placed a seed for women's ministry on Veronica’s heart in 2008. However, it was not until September 30, 2014, that the first SheSpeaks meeting was held in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. With Proverbs 31:26 as the anchor verse for SheSpeaks, it was soon apparent that SheSpeaks, would be more than just a group of women getting together every week. It provided a much needed platform for women to embrace the concept of trusting relationship, while providing a safe place to discuss real life issues that are unique to women. Her desire is to connect with women of all ages in their real life and connect them to deeper spiritual truths that have practical application. Veronica’s practical insights inspire women to a deeper relationship with Christ.

Veronica has the heart to set women free, empower them, and teach them to walk in their destiny. Veronica’s greatest strengths equal those most essential for consistent growth and success of SheSpeaks, Inc. Known for her excellence in caring for the heart of women, Veronica devotes her insight and comprehensive knowledge to improving the lives of many women. In addition to running SheSpeaks, Inc., Veronica is a dedicated, loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoys vacationing with family. Veronica also finds joy in tackling multiple leadership roles within her church.

SheSpeaks, Inc. is a member of the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce where Veronica serves as an Ambassador. It is her desire as an Ambassador to network with other business leaders in an effort to make an impact on community programs that help develop the communities of Tuscaloosa and West Alabama.

Lynn Russ,

Chief Administrative Officer

Linda (Lynn) Russ is Chief Administrative Officer of SheSpeaks, Inc. Lynn was born in Birmingham, Alabama. While living in Birmingham her passion and desire to help and serve others began early in her life. As a teenager, Lynn was an active member of her church feeding ministry, which she helped with the cooking, preparing and at times delivering up to 600 meals a month to homeless and low-income residents in the surrounding communities. After graduation from Birmingham School of Business, Lynn began her career with Birmingham Trust National Bank, who after several mergers became Wells Fargo. After 28 years of service, Lynn decided it was time to retire laying down her hat of AVP, Benefits Manager for the 12,000.00 employees. Her hat wasn’t laid down very long. A few months after she retired, she and her husband moved to Selma Alabama for his job. Because of her love for people, Lynn volunteered her time and efforts at the United Way of Dallas County. There she served as an advocate with pharmaceutical companies for low-income residents of the Dallas County area. She worked toward helping them receive their medications at little or no cost.

After 3 years in Selma, her husband’s job relocated them to Tuscaloosa. After a few months of learning the city, again, her desire to help the community kicked in. She started serving at WAAO (West Alabama AIDS Outreach). There she served in the role of the community liaison. She helped establish the AIDS Education Awareness Program. She conducted community meetings every week on AIDS prevention. This took her into many areas within West Alabama.

Today, Lynn is still a giver of her time to so many. She serves in various community events throughout Tuscaloosa, including volunteering weekly at DCH Cancer Center. Both Lynn and her husband are enjoying retirement living and spending lots of time with family. However, the best of times for them is golfing, loving and spoiling their grandchildren!!!
