As the year begins to wind down, SheSpeaks invites you to pause, reflect, and straighten your crown one more time before we turn the page.

Our October Crown Check Live, “Before We Turn the Page,” will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at TCTA from 10:00AM ~ 12:30PM, and will be our final Crown Check gathering of the year. So this will be more than a meeting—it is an opportunity to reflect on the chapters we have lived, celebrate how far we have come, and prepare our hearts for what lies ahead.

Throughout this year, we have laughed, learned, shared, encouraged one another, and experienced moments that reminded us of the power of sisterhood. Some chapters brought joy and celebration. Others brought challenges, growth, and lessons we may not have expected. Yet through it all, we kept showing up.

As we prepare to enter the holiday season, life often becomes busy with family gatherings, traveling, shopping, celebrations, and making memories with the people we love. Before the holiday rush begins, October gives us a beautiful opportunity to slow down and ask ourselves: What am I grateful for in this chapter? What have I learned? What am I ready to release? And what am I excited to embrace in the next chapter?

As we gather, let’s celebrate the women we are today—not the woman we thought we would be at the beginning of the year. Every experience has shaped us, strengthened us, and added another page to our story.

We will close out the year together with grateful hearts and expectant spirits.

This may be our last Crown Check of 2026, but it is not goodbye.

We’ll turn the page and meet again on Saturday, January 16, 2027, ready for a new chapter, new possibilities, and another opportunity to check our crowns.

Until then, enjoy the holidays, cherish your family and friends, travel safely, make beautiful memories, and give yourself permission to rest and reflect.

12th Annual Te'te a' Te'te "Do You Remember?" It's A Denim and White Tee Affair!

On September 19, 2026, SheSpeaks, Inc. proudly celebrated its 12th Annual Te’te a’ Te’te Celebration—a beautiful gathering centered on friendship, sisterhood, community, and the journey we have shared together.

This year’s celebration brought women together at Tuscaloosa Career & Technology Academy for a festive White & Denim Affair. From the moment guests arrived, the room was filled with laughter, music, conversation, and the unmistakable joy that happens when women come together.

Queens enjoyed an afternoon of shopping with local vendors, delicious food, music, games, dancing, and plenty of opportunities to reconnect and make new memories. The room reflected the beautiful diversity of the women SheSpeaks serves, with women of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences coming together as one community.

The celebration was more than an anniversary—it was a reminder of how far SheSpeaks has come and the lives touched along the way. For twelve years, SheSpeaks has created spaces where women can use their voices, discover their identity, build meaningful relationships, and encourage one another.

As we look back with gratitude, we also look forward with expectation. Twelve years represent history, but it also represents a foundation for what is still to come.

To every Queen, volunteer, vendor, supporter, partner, and friend who has been part of this journey—thank you for helping make 12 years possible.

Here’s to the memories we’ve made, the women we’ve encouraged, and the chapters still waiting to be written.

What’s In Your Backpack? — Crown Check Live Recap

What’s in your backpack? That simple question became the heart of August’s Crown Check Live as we gathered to prepare for the season ahead. Building on our previous Unburdened conversation, we were reminded that before we can decide what to carry forward, we have to be willing to release what has been weighing us down.

As children, a new school year meant packing pencils, notebooks, folders, crayons, and everything we needed to succeed. As adults, however, our backpacks can become filled with very different things—disappointment, anxiety, stress, worry, comparison, unforgiveness, exhaustion, and unrealistic expectations. But after becoming Unburdened, we have an opportunity to pack intentionally for what comes next.

During our time together, we explored ten virtues that belong in every backpack: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faith, gratitude, self-control, strength, and wisdom. Each virtue was represented by a meaningful everyday item, helping us see that these aren't simply words we admire. They are tools we can use to navigate real life.

We talked about love as strength under control and the importance of learning to love ourselves. We were reminded that joy isn't dependent on perfect circumstances, peace doesn't mean the absence of storms, and patience requires trusting God's timing. Kindness can heal unseen wounds, while faith helps us take the next step even when we cannot see the entire path.

Gratitude challenges us to focus on God's goodness rather than allowing our circumstances to become the entire story. Self-control protects the other virtues we carry, helping us respond with wisdom instead of reacting from emotion. Strength reminds us that we don't have to rely solely on our own ability, and wisdom keeps us moving in the right direction when life presents difficult choices.

We also explored the powerful difference between being transparent and being exposed. We can be authentic without giving everyone access to our personal stories, dreams, and vulnerable places. Discernment teaches us that some things should remain covered until the right relationship, season, and level of trust comes along.

As we closed, we were challenged to ask ourselves each morning, “Do I have all my things?” Are we carrying patience? Kindness? Faith? Gratitude? Self-control? Wisdom? Strength?

We left Crown Check Live reminded that our backpacks are no longer filled with yesterday's burdens. They are packed with the virtues we need for tomorrow.

We have released the weight. We are equipped for the journey. And we are ready for the season ahead!
